Anglia Speaking Tests are an essential element of the Anglia Examination. It is an excellent and comprehensive way of testing English speaking skills. Anglia offers Speaking Tests at all 10 General English and 4 Business English levels. With the Anglia Speaking Test, students can develop their spoken English step by step. The Speaking Tests offer students practical situations to show their progress.
The Anglia Speaking Test is not available as a stand-alone examination. It is an optional module and candidates may only register for the speaking test if they are taking the General English three skills as well. The tests are separately certificated. All examination sessions have to be recorded. All recording wil be sent to England and will be marked there.
Preparation
For the levels up to Preliminary, the students need only prepare if they want to do something extra at the test, like perform a rhyme, chant, poem or song. From Elementary onwards, students are expected to prepare specific parts of the test. You will receive preperation topics and other materials like pictures, exam forms and instructions at least one week before the exam date.
Internal Assessment
For the Levels First Step up until Advanced, teachers can conduct the tests themselves. In order to do this, teachers have to meet certain qualifications, as set by Anglia Examinations England. Internal Assessors have to be trained by Anglia Network Europe. The Anglia Speaking Test Assessor Training starts twice a year, in March and November.
External Assessment
Anglia can also provide external assessors who come to your school to carry out the tests. At Levels AcCEPT Proficiency, Masters and all Business English Levels, the test will have to be conducted by an External Anglia Assessor. A minimum number of 10 participants is required to conduct the Speaking Test with an external examiner at your own school.
